Our Story

The Farmers’ Creamery was started in 2020 by three Amish dairy farmers in Mio, Michigan with a mission to offer top-quality, fresh, clean dairy products while supporting their family farms. The cooperative has grown to include five family farms in the Mio area, each milking herds of 30-40 cows, all 100% grass fed.

The product line includes over 40 products including fresh milks, creams, smoothies, cheeses, dips and ice cream.

Our Process

The Farmers’ Creamery produces Grade A, VAT pasteurized milk and dairy products. VAT pasteurized milk has become popular as dairy processors are using the technique to produce “farm-fresh” tasting milk. With VAT pasteurization, milk is heated to 150 degrees for 30 minutes and then is quickly cooled. This retains a high percentage of the milk’s natural enzymes and beneficial bacteria which adds to the flavor and health benefits of the milk. VAT pasteurized milk is said to taste fresher than standard pasteurization.

Our cows produce A2 milk which studies have shown is easier to digest. Research indicates that consuming A2 milk has not been associated with symptoms of abdominal pain, stool frequency changes, or constipation - all potential symptoms from standard milk.

We offer our milk and dairy products in returnable glass containers. Glass containers preserve freshness and quality ensuring great farm fresh taste and nourishment. The glass containers are sustainable, reusable, and 100% recyclable.
